News Update
THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) under former Senate President David Mark, putting an end to the party’s long-running internal dispute.
On Wednesday in Abuja, INEC updated the party’s records on its official website, listing the new executive members and formally recognizing Mark as National Chairman.
The update followed months of disagreement over who should lead the opposition party.
The new structure names former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, while Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad takes the role of National Treasurer.
Akibu Dalhatu was listed as National Financial Secretary, and former Edo State governor Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor was confirmed as National Legal Adviser.
The change is expected to strengthen the ADC as it prepares for the 2027 general elections, with many party members hopeful that the new leadership will bring stability and unity.
