THE Oniwoye of Iwoye-Ijesa; His Royal Majesty, Oba Amos Adewumi Ogidiolu, expresses deep appreciation to Lions Club International and the dedicated medical team for organizing an outstanding free Eye care medical outreach in Iwoye-Ijesa kingdom. The program held at the town hall (YEC), offered vital health services to residents of Iwoye-Ijesa and neighboring communities.
The Eye care outreach featured free heart screening, blood pressure check, and the distribution of reading glasses to individuals with visual impairments. It also provided essential medications and health advice to those with chronic or emerging health conditions.
Residents from surrounding communities such as Ijebu-Ijesa, Ere-Ijesa, Itegun – Ijesa , Eti-Oni and Iloko-Ijesa also benefitted from the initiative, making the program a regional success and an inclusive health campaign beyond Iwoye-Ijesa alone.
Speaking during the event, HRMOba Ogidiolu praised Lions Club International and the medical professionals ( ophthalmologist, cardiologist, nurses and doctors ) for their selfless services and unwavering commitment to community health. He noted that the program would go a long way in addressing preventable health issues in rural areas.
“I am deeply grateful to the Lions Club project chairperson LION KOLA OYEKANMI and the medical team led by LION OLUFUNKE ODESANMI the outreach officer for this noble gesture,” the monarch said. “Your presence here today reminds us that health truly is wealth, and I commend our people for coming out in large numbers to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The traditional ruler also urged residents to prioritize their health through regular checkups and healthy living, adding that he looks forward to more community partnerships that promote well-being and development.
