The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has predicted three days of thunderstorms and moderate rainfall across several parts of the country from Monday to Wednesday.
In its daily weather outlook released on Sunday, the agency said northern states will experience sunny skies with patches of clouds in the morning, chances of thunderstorms and moderate rain in parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Kebbi, and Sokoto.
NiMet also forecasts that by afternoon and evening, thunderstorms with moderate rains are expected in parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Kebbi, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, and Yobe States.
For the central region, NiMet predicted cloudy skies in the morning, with possible thunderstorms and light rain in parts of Niger State.
However, in the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rain are expected in Plateau, Nasarawa, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kogi, Benue, and Niger States.
In the southern part of the country, cloudy skies are forecast in the morning with chances of rain in Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, and Delta states.
Later in the day, light rain is expected in parts of Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states.
NiMet advised the public to remain cautious of possible flash floods, strong winds, and localized disruptions due to thunderstorms and rainfall.
