THE Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has redeployed the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Olutokunbo Afolabi and replaced him with another CP.
No official reason has been given for the sudden removal of the Ondo Commissioner of Police, meanwhile, it was gathered that the June 12 protest was alleged to have led to the redeployment of Afolabi.
According to the report, Afolabi has been reassigned as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration at the Department of Training and Development (DTD), Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The department oversees the planning, coordination, and implementation of training programmes and career development initiatives for police officers.
This newspaper gathered that Afolabi has been replaced in Ondo State by Adebowale Lawal, who previously served as the Commissioner of Police, Quartermaster, at the Force Headquarters.
