Ondo Poll: Aiyedatiwa’s Tribunal Victory A Boost For Democracy And Good Governance – Makinde Congratulates Governor

Ondo, Ondo State – June 5, 2025

Federal lawmaker, Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde, has congratulated the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his resounding victory at the Election Petition Tribunal, describing the ruling as a significant win for democracy, justice, and the people of the state.

The tribunal, sitting in Akure, dismissed the petition filed by Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), upholding Aiyedatiwa’s mandate as the duly elected Governor of Ondo State. Reacting to the judgment, Hon. Makinde, who was campaign Director General, said the verdict not only validates the will of the people but also strengthens the foundation of democratic governance in the state.

“This judgment is more than a personal victory for Governor Aiyedatiwa; it is a resounding affirmation of the people’s trust and a clear endorsement of the Governor’s people-oriented leadership,” Makinde stated.

He commended the Governor for his calm, steady, and focused leadership despite post-election distractions and urged him to take this victory as a renewed call to deepen the administration’s development efforts across all zones of the state.

Makinde emphasized the importance of unity among progressive leaders to ensure sustainable development and inclusive growth in Ondo State.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa has shown exemplary conduct and vision. This legal victory should energize all of us who believe in purposeful governance to do more for our people,” he added.

Hon. Makinde, known for his commitment to youth empowerment and community-based development, expressed confidence that the administration under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to all nooks and crannies of the state.

The tribunal victory has been hailed across the state as a defining moment that brings political stability and sets the tone for intensified developmental efforts.
