Announcement: A New Chapter Begins

After eight transformative years in public service, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my resignation as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Broadcast Communications. Serving two remarkable governors has been an incredible journey, one that I will cherish forever.

My adventure began on March 8, 2017, while covering a story in Epe, Lagos, as a reporter with TVC, when I received calls of congratulations for my appointment as Press Secretary to the late Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu—an inspiring leader, mentor, and friend. Joining his administration as one of the earliest political aides. Eight years later, I stand proud to have been under his tutulage. Looking back over these eight years, I am deeply honored to have learned under his distinguished leadership.

This 8 year period has been nothing short of a ‘PhD in LIFE’ —my own personal journey through the realms of politics and civil service. Over the years, I encountered numerous challenges, which were overcome with unwavering faith, resilience and trust in God. These experiences have shaped me into the professional I am today.

I faced initial doubts but remained steadfast, knowing that my purpose was greater than any challenge. Today, I stand strong and grateful for the incredible experiences of the past eight years.

I owe immense gratitude to the Almighty God, who has been my unwavering support and shield throughout this time. I have had the honor of being promoted and reappointed, making me the longest-serving aide to have worked alongside two governors in the sunshine state.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to my late mentor the indefatigable Aketi, who recognized my potential and entrusted me with the role of Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast Communications after my initial appointment as Press Secretary Electronic Media. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy continues to inspire me.

I also wish to express my appreciation to the current Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for believing in me and reappointing me to the same position. That means a lot to me. I pray that Ondo State witness peace, prosperity and progress under your tenure.

To my family and friends, thank you for your encouragement, kindness, and prayers. And to everyone who has played a role in my journey—positive or negative—thank you for shaping my path. The challenges have only made me stronger.

This journey has been filled with grace, and I am ready to embark on a new path filled with even greater opportunities. Thank you all for your support, and I ask for your continued encouragement as I take this next step.

Here’s to embracing new beginnings with the same grace that has guided me thus far!

Thank you all and God bless you.

Dapo Aruwajoye
