Meet Osun state FRSC sector commander, Leye Adegboyega

THE Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has announced the appointment of Corps Commander, Leye Adegboyega, as the new Sector Commander of the Osun State Sector Command.

The appointment, according to a statement issued by Agnes Ogungbemi, the spokesperson of the command, took effect on April 25, 2025.

The statement disclosed that Adegboyega, who was born on July 25, 1969 had served as Zonal Head of Operations in Osogbo.

The statement reads, “Born on 25 July 1969 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Adegboyega hails from Ayetoro in Yewa South Local Government Area. He began his educational journey at St. Andrew’s Primary School, Ibara, and later attended African Church Grammar School, Ita-Eko, where he obtained his West African Secondary School Certificate in 1985.

“Adegboyega holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Ogun State University, completed in 1992. He also earned a Diploma in Computer Applications and Processing from Data Training Institute, Enugu, and a Master’s in Transport Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in 2013.

“He began his FRSC career on 1 November 1993, serving as Personal Assistant to the Director of Operations. His subsequent postings included Principal Staff Officer to the Acting Corps Marshal, Staff Officer (Statistics), and Head of Operations in various states.

“Between 2010 and 2012, Adegboyega served as Road Safety Administrator at Shell Nigeria’s Abuja headquarters and later led Ojota Unit Command. In 2014, he became the Unit Commander of RS2.22 Otta and rose to Deputy Corps Commander in 2016 following successful promotion exercises.

“In 2020, he was nominated by FRSC to attend the National Institute for Security Studies in Abuja, earning the title of Fellow of the Security Institute (fsi). He subsequently served as Director of Coordination at the FRSC Command and Staff College, Udi, Enugu, and later returned to Osogbo as Zonal Head of Operations.

Over the years, Adegboyega has participated in numerous courses and retreats, including executive training at the National Institute for Security Studies, as well as capacity-building conferences across Nigeria aimed at improving road safety strategies.
