News Update
THE Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that it will not accept Governor Peter Mbah if he decides to join the party.
The APC made this decision during an expanded stakeholders meeting held at the party secretariat in Enugu.
At the meeting, 150 notable figures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) officially joined the APC.
The APC State Chairman, Ugochukwu Agballah, shared the party’s position during the event, firmly stating that Governor Mbah would not be welcomed.
The party accused the governor and his administration of failing to tackle security challenges in Enugu State.
They blamed the government for not dealing with the attacks by herdsmen in Uzo-Uwani and Isi-Uzo local government areas.
According to them, the state government ignored the violence and even tried to hide the news from the public, failing in its duty to protect lives and properties.
After the stakeholders meeting, the APC welcomed the new members warmly and promised equal treatment.
Party leaders were pleased with the growing number of defectors, which they see as proof that the APC is gaining strength in the state.
Some of the new members include Barrister Peter Okonkwo, a former PDP House of Assembly aspirant, who pledged to dismantle PDP structures in the Nsukka zone.
Others like Hon Nonso Ochi, Hon Onyeka Chukwuedo, Chief John Edeh, Chief Tony Chigbo, and Engr Emeka Abba, who held strong positions in PDP and LP, also joined the APC.

They asked the State Executive Committee to officially confirm the suspension.
