THE Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in fulfilment of his electioneering campaign promise will flag off the dualisation of Akure Idanre road on Wednesday the 30th of April 2025.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engineer Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye (FNSE, FNICE) made this known in Akure during a chat with journalists.
Engineer Olawoye, who informed that the dualisation will be in two phases, stated that the first phase which is 10km will start from Cashhold junction in Arakale through Oke Aro and will terminate at KM 10 on Akure/ Idanre road.
According to the Special Adviser, the contract has been awarded to a reputable construction company with a track record of timely completion and technical prowess.
The road has a carriage way width of 9.3 meters on either side and a median of 1.2 meters width.
The dual carriage way will also have modern traffic management systems (traffic lights) at all critical intersections.
He applauded the Aiyedatiwa led administration for his foresight and acumen in the dualisation of the road as the traffic on the said road is getting beyond single lane.
Engr Olawoye therefore implored the Community leaders, residents of the area and road users to support and cooperate with the Contractor for a seamless construction process.
