Hit-and-run driver crushes Baby in Ekiti

An unknown vehicle has crushed a one-year-old boy, Desmond Adewole, to death in Emure-Ekiti.

The boy was reportedly run over by one of the worshippers who came to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Emure-Ekiti, during the Easter Sunday service.

According to a member of the church who spoke on condition of anonymity, the identity of the driver responsible for the incident is yet to be known.

The child was found lying on the ground in a position that indicated he had been accidentally run over by a vehicle.

The church member said the tragic incident occurred when the baby unknowingly stepped out of the church in search of his mother.

He added that the incident has thrown the entire community into confusion and mourning.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Sunday Abutu, said the matter would be thoroughly investigated.
