Full List: Saudi Arabia bans visa for Nigeria, 12 other countries ahead 2025 Hajj

THE Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced a temporary bans of specific visa categories for citizens of 14 countries, which includes Nigeria, India, and Pakistan, this is part of the new travel restrictions ahead of the Hajj pilgrimage of 2025.

It was gathered that the Saudi authorities are suspending the released of Umrah, family visit, and business visas for citizens from the listed countries beginning in April 2025.

The ban is expected to take the effect until June, when the Hajj season concludes.

Officials announced that the suspension does not primarily affect pilgrimage who have properly registered for the Hajj.

Nigerians and other country who intended to perform the holy pilgrimage in Makkah and Medinah through official Hajj channels will still be allowed to enter into the Kingdom.

However, this bans aim to curb the increasing number of people that are not authorized who exploit Umrah or visit visas to participate in the Hajj without due registration, which often results in overcrowding and logistics issue.

According to the official, this visa bans comes in the wake of concerns about illegal overstays and unregulated pilgrim movement, especially during the unforgettable events of the 2024 Hajj, which claims thousands of lives of pilgrimage due to overcrowding and extreme heat.

However, only those who got approval by the Hajj through designated authorities will be allowed to have access during the pilgrimage period.
