Eight cows strike down by thunder in Ondo community

Lightning has killed eight cows in Ori-Ohin community in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According to reports, the incident happened on Sunday evening during a heavy downpour.

The incident has also left the residents of the community in panic.

The spokesperson of Ondo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident to the television station.

While expressing dismay at the unfortunate incident, Ayanlade noted that it was a natural occurrence.

The PPRO said that police authorities have reached out to the community heads to ensure the incident does not lead to controversy.

This is not the first time such incident has happened in Ondo State.

Recall that in 2019, thunder struck about 36 cows on a hill in Ijare, a community Ifedore Local Government Area of the State.
