Has CBN introduced N5,000 And N10,000 notes featuring Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Azikwe’s image?

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 has debunked a fake circular introducing new N5,000 and N10,000 notes effective May 1, 2025, Voice Air Media reported.

In the fake circular was the portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo on N5,000 and Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe on N10,000, respectively.

According to the official Page of the CBN monitored by this Newspaper, it reads,
