REAFFIRMATION OF OUR ALLEGIANCE TO THE AUTHORITY OF HIS EMINENCE, ALHAJI MUHAMMAD SA’AD ABUBAKAR, OFR, MNI, THE SULTAN OF SOKOTO AND PRESIDENT GENERAL OF NIGERIAN SUPREME COUNCIL FOR ISLAMIC AFFAIRS (NSCIA) AND JAMA’ATU NASRIL ISLAM (JNI) BY THE SOUTHERN NIGERIA MUSLIM ORGANISATION (SONMO).
The Leadership of Southern Nigeria Muslim Organization (SONMO) is pleased to felicitate with His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, OFR, mni the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) on the auspicious occassion of the commencement of the 2025 Ramadan fasting, corresponding to 1446 AH, this Saturday, 1st March, 2025 and in appreciation of our successful paticipation in the 2025 Pre-Ramadan meeting of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam in Kaduna on the 24th February, 2025.
Following the high-level vote of confident on the Nigerian muslim leadership under His Eminence Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, OFR, mni, we want to state unequivocally and emphatically that the SOUTHERN NIGERIA MUSLIM ORGANISATION (SONMO) has pledged our full Allegiance to the leadership and authority of His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, the Sultan of Sokoto and the President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs ( NSCIA) and Jama’at Nasril Islam (JNI).
In a statement made and issued by Sheikh (Dr.) Haroun Ogbonnia Ajah, FCRSA, the SONMO Director-General, we reinterate that His Eminence Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, OFR, mni remains the over all leader of the Nigerian Muslim Community to enhance seamless progress and development of Islam in Nigeria and we assure His Eminence, the Sultan of our unaloyed loyalty and full support to meet the highest standard of service delivery to all muslims in Nigeria. His Eminence’s leadership qualities, vision, dedication and commitment in transforming the Nigeria Muslim Community to an enviable hight through his all inclusive accomodation is exceptional and very strategic.
Under his guidance, the Southern Nigeria Muslim Community have experienced reasonable growth in the Da’wah processes and we are proud to be associated with the success story of his leadership.
The incongruous fillers from some quarters at attempting to belittle the office of His Eminence are unnecessary and will amount to nothing in the face and the unwavering loyalty of the majority.
We reject it, disassociate and distance ourselves from such ill-thought initiative, decisions and actions. This is because, His Eminence drives to peace building, unwavering professionalism and excellence in handling the UMMAH’s Affairs, team work, exceptional carefulness, sharp focus and unshakable calm under pressure and true mastery of strategic leadership has earned him unreserved respect and admiration of the larger society.
We pray for Allah’s favours and wisdom to His Eminence, our leader as we shall continue to remain loyal and awaits his directives in all Islamic affairs in Nigeria In shaa Allah. Our full suppport and solidarity are firmly with His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI).
