Woman petition DSS over threat to life by Islamic cleric, Akewugbagold

Dr Kafilat Kaola, an Islamic don, has written a petition to the Department of Security Services (DSS) over alleged threat to her life by one Taofeeq Akewugbagold , the formal chairman of Oyo Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board.

Kaola in a petition submitted to the DSS Force Headquarters, and copied by her legal team , Ahmed Lawal and Co. legal practitioner and property consultant had alleged that Akewugbagold threatened to “deal” with her and also take her life for unjust reasons.

In the petition dated Feb.19 , 2025 and signed by her lead legal team , Mr Ahmed Lawal , she alleged that Akewugbagold approached her for intimacy after the death of her husband but she refused his hand in marriage before he started threatening her ,infringing in her privacy with public embarrassment.

“I wish to officially report that Akewugbagold had to subject me to public ridicule , interfering in my private life and threatened to kill me if I did not dance to his drum.

“ He had also on several occasions blocked my way to prominent individuals and also several embarrassment because of my refusal to harkened to his hand for marriage and other benefits he so wishes to get from me.

“I was trailed on several times by unknown persons in some unknown vehicles allegedly to be assassins for what I never knew about putting my life in danger.

Meanwhile, Akewugbagold, when contacted by newsmen to ascertained the alleged allegations against him was not available through his mobile phone.
