Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic Approved – Details

News Update

THE Nigerian Government has approved the establishment of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This move is part of the national policy to advance technological, vocational, and entrepreneurial training across the country.

A letter from the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, dated January 9, 2025, was addressed to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, confirming the approval.

The initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s goal of ensuring every state in Nigeria has a federal polytechnic. The letter, received on January 16, 2025, requests the FCT Minister to recommend potential locations for both the temporary and permanent sites in Gwarinpa for the polytechnic’s take-off.

Dr. Alausa further stated that a technical team from the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) will visit the proposed sites for inspection. After reviewing the report, the final approval will be granted. The Ministry has also suggested the option of taking over existing tertiary institutions for this project, if deemed necessary.

The establishment of this new polytechnic aims to enhance vocational and technological education, preparing students for careers in various industries and promoting entrepreneurial skills across Nigeria.
