PDP Lawmaker Dumps Party, Joins APC

News Update

Hon. Ashakia Pius, Member Representing Obanliku State Constituency in the House of Assembly, has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a high-profile visit to his constituency in Obanliku Local Government Area.

It was gathered that the defection was announced during a visit to notable political figures at the APC Secretariat. He was received to the party by Dr. George Ejikang, Chapter Chairman of the APC in Obanliku and Hon. Chief Dr. Sunny Ayang, the current Local Government Chairman of Obanliku.

As the only opposition member in the 25-member legislature, Hon. Pius’ defection marks the consolidation of the assembly under a single political banner—the APC.
