Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has announced the installation of CCTV cameras in schools.
Speaking during the distribution of educational materials at the Government House in Katsina on Tuesday, Radda emphasized the importance of safeguarding schools against potential threats.
“The security of our students and teachers is paramount. Installing CCTV cameras will not only deter criminal activities but also provide real-time monitoring to enhance safety measures in our schools,” he said.
The governor also revealed that this initiative aligns with other ongoing efforts to improve education in the state, including the provision of 25,000 textbooks each for Mathematics, Computer Science, and English Language to Basic 4-6 pupils.
In addition, 18 buses were distributed to enhance project coordination, along with special needs equipment for the School for the Blind.
Further supporting school infrastructure, Radda disclosed that N4.737 billion had been allocated for constructing classrooms, toilet facilities, and water infrastructure in 150 primary schools identified as having critical deficits.
