Omoyele and Abass: Pioneering Development and Progress for Osun Amotekun Corps – Yusuf Idowu Abass

The appointment of Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele as the Corps Commander and AIG Tajudeen Olawale Abass as the Board Chairman of Osun Amotekun Corps by the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, has significantly trend development and progress within the organization.

Under their leadership, the Osun Amotekun Corps has witnessed a transformative shift in its operations, benefiting both its personnel and the broader security network.

One of the key improvements has been the welfare of the officers in which operatives are now receiving better allowances, in recognition for their standby duties, and operational engagements that had previously been overlooked.

Additionally, the integration of Amotekun officers into the civil service scheme has brought about a sense of stability and inclusiveness within the Corps. These changes have been warmly welcomed, as officers now feel valued and appreciated for their service.

Before Omoyele and Abass took charge, the Osun Amotekun Corps struggled with a lack of a permanent headquarters since its inception in 2020.

However, the leadership duo quickly addressed this gap, and the result is the conducive edifice now made as the unit Headquarters located opposite Power Line in Osogbo.

This achievement is a testament to the commitment of both leaders in improving the Corps’ infrastructure, allowing officers to proudly call this new facility their base of operations.

Furthermore, the legal framework supporting the Corps has also been strengthened. Through the efforts of the Corps Commander, the Board Chairman, the Field Commander, and the Osun State House of Assembly, the proposed law was successfully passed from the first reading to the third reading and ultimately enacted into law.

The support from Governor Asiwaju Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke in assigning the law further highlights the state’s dedication to empowering the Amotekun Corps.

Governor Adeleke deserves commendation for appointing highly qualified security experts, like Omoyele and Abass, to manage the Osun Amotekun Corps.

Their leadership has brought a renewed sense of hope to the Corps’ personnel, many of whom had previously lost faith in the system due to past inefficiencies. The remarkable achievements and breakthroughs witnessed under their guidance have transformed the agency into a more efficient, well-managed security force.

Omoyele, known for his uncompromising stance against crime, has been instrumental in making criminals flee from Osun State. His efforts in partnering with other security agencies have led to numerous arrests and the dismantling of various criminal networks.

Under his leadership, criminals engaging in ritual killings, armed robbery, burglary, and other crimes have been paraded, showcasing the success of his strategies. The respect he commands from other security agencies speaks to his credibility and leadership in the security sector.

A man of integrity, Omoyele is dedicated to hard work and justice, inspiring his officers and promoting unity within the Corps.

Having served in the Nigeria Police Force for 35 years, he has gained vast experience working across various states in the country. His contributions to national security earned him the role of Chief Security Officer and Special Adviser to the Governor on Internal Security before his appointment as Corps Commander. His numerous accolades from non-governmental organizations further emphasize his exemplary service to the nation.

Under his leadership, the people of Osun State feel safer, confident that they can sleep with both eyes closed.

AIG Tajudeen Olawale Abass, the Board Chairman, brings decades of invaluable experience to the Osun Amotekun Corps. A retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Abass who has served the nation for 35 years, ensuring the safety and security of the country’s citizens. His extensive background and expertise have greatly enhanced the progress and development of the Corps, and his leadership is characterized by an appreciation for hard work and dedication.

As Omoyele, Abass and Akanni were paddling the Osun Amotekun Corps toward greater heights, fostering development, and securing the safety of the state’s citizens.
