All civil servants in Ebonyi State are set to receive a Christmas bonus of N150,000.

This was announced by the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru.

This payment is scheduled to be disbursed before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, according to a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor.

Last year, the governor, alongside his colleagues from Lagos and Rivers states, offered N100,000 to civil servants to ease the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.

Local government employees, who received N50,000 bonuses last year, are hopeful for a similar directive to their council chairmen.

Recently, the governor also raised the minimum wage in Ebonyi to N75,000, exceeding the federal government’s benchmark of N70,000, with additional increments for higher grades.
