Davido: If it wasn’t Chioma, I wouldn’t have gotten married

News Update

Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his wife, Chioma, played a role in his decision to tie the knot.

Speaking during an appearance on The Morning Hustle podcast, which was shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the award-winning singer described his wedding day as the happiest moment of his life.

Reflecting on their 13-year relationship, Davido praised Chioma for her unwavering support and influence on his personal and professional growth. He credited her presence and dedication as the driving force behind his decision to embrace marriage.

“Without Chioma, I wouldn’t have gotten married. There’s no point,” Davido stated.

When asked further how he met his wife, he said, “She has been my girl for like 12, 13 years.

“I was famous, but I want like big, I was kind of okay; now I’m making like 5 to 6 hundred thousand dollars for a show on a good day. I’m making more.

“She was with me when I was making 2 thousand dollars. She is my friend.”

The couple tied the knot on June 25, 2024, at a lavish ceremony in Lagos.
