Labour Party chieftain resigns from party

A 2024 Labour Party governorship aspirant in Edo State, Kenneth Imansuangbon, has officially parted ways with the party.

His resignation was communicated via a letter to the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, and his ward leader in Ewohimi.

He revealed that he was dissatisfied with the party’s internal operations.

Imansuangbon, who previously vied for the LP governorship ticket but lost to Olumide Akpata, expressed disappointment in the party’s governance, accusing it of sidelining its principles.

He criticized the leadership for imposing candidates, ignoring democratic processes, and fostering internal conflicts.

Imansuangbon noted that the Labour Party’s internal challenges made it incapable of providing a credible political alternative.

“After consulting with my teeming supporters statewide, I found it necessary for me and my followers to step away from the Labour Party,” he said.
