Ondo: I’ve Put Election Behind Me – Aiyedatiwa

– Gov, on return from Abuja, promises to put people’s interest first

It was carnival-like at the Akure Airport on Thursday as Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa alongside his Deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, returned home after receiving their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Governor was welcomed by a crowd of supporters, singing and dancing in continuation of the celebration of his victory in last Saturday’s governorship election.

In a short speech, Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated the supporters, stressing that the victory is not for him alone but for the people of Ondo State.

He said: “I am still very overwhelmed with joy and I appreciate God Almighty who made it possible. I also thank the people of Ondo State who have renewed this mandate through their votes”.

Governor Aiyedatiwa said now that the electoral process is complete, it is time to settle down to business of governance, urging the people of the State to continue to support his administration.

“We will consider the people’s interest first in any policy we make, double our efforts in ensuring that the people are comfortable and ensure that all sectors of the State are developed”, the Governor added.
