Bankole Akinselure Sympathizes Ondo Residents Over Flooding, Calls for Climate Responsibility

•Appreciates Governor Aiyedatiwa for his prompt intervention

In the wake of the devastating floods that recently affected some communities in Idanre, Ondo Kingdom, Akure South and other communities in the state, Hon BANKOLE Akinselure, the vice chairman of Idanre local government has expressed his heartfelt sympathy for the victims and to the Ondo state government.

His message resonates with urgency and compassion, highlighted the pressing need for all sundries in the state to come together in solidarity during these challenging time.

The floods in some affected area of the State had left many families displaced, homes and properties worth billions destroyed, and communities in despair. Hon. Akinselure noted that natural disasters like this serve as a stark reminder of the increasing frequency and severity of climate-related events, which are often exacerbated by climate change.

In his address, Akinselure emphasizes that it is crucial for individuals, communities, and governments to recognize the gravity of the situation and take immediate action to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Hon Akinselure’s call to action is rooted in the belief that collective effort can lead to meaningful change. He urges everyone to reevaluate their daily habits and consider how they can contribute to a more sustainable future. Hon Bankole Akinslelure appreciated the state government for immediate response and action to this situation. He noted that the Governor’s action was due to his sensitivity to occurrences in the state and compassion for the masses.This he said can only come from a reliable and trustworthy leader.

Akinselure further encouraged affected communities to follow all instructions given by the ondo state government through relevant agencies saddled with responsibilities to provide immediate succour and a lasting solution to the causes of these flood.

He further emphasised the need to come together to build a more resilient future where communities are better prepared for the challenges posed by climate change and where compassion for one another prevails.
