The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has cast his vote at Emokpa Primary School in Oredo Ward 4, unit 19.
The governor who cast his vote at exactly 11:55am in the ongoing Governorship Election described the exercise as peaceful so far.
Obaseki, however, expressed optimism that if the process continued the way it was going, the candidate of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would emerge victorious.
“I am confident our party’s candidate will win the poll if the process is not rigged.”
“From the report we have been receiving since shows that the exercise is peaceful. We haven’t received any bad news so far.”
VAM News also reported that the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the Edo State governorship election, Olumide Akpata, expressed satisfaction in the voting process.
Akpata who spoke shortly after casting his vote, at the polling unit 11, ward 6 in Oredo Local Government Area, around 10:30am, had expressed hope that it would be the same all over the state.
He had appealed that his supporters should be allowed to cast their votes as the exercise continued.
At the ward, electorates came out in their large numbers despite the rainfall that started around 10am in the state capital.
