THE Department of State Services has granted administrative bail to the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero.

Pro-democracy activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, announced his release in a tweet on Monday night.

This newspaper gathered the message below;

“BREAKING: The fascist regime of @officialABAT has released the @NLCHeadquarters President Joe Ajaero from @OfficialDSSNG custody on bail,” Sowore wrote on X.com.

As the country’s apex labour union leader, Mr. Ajaero’s detention had sparked widespread concern and intense speculation regarding the circumstances surrounding his arrest and detention.

VAM News on Monday morning reported that Ajaero was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the NLC accused the DSS of arresting Ajaero without a warrant.
