In response to Nigeria’s ongoing food crisis, the Federal Government has commenced the sale of subsidised milled rice to alleviate the pressure on citizens.
The initiative was officially launched in Abuja on Thursday by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari.
The rice will be sold at a subsidised rate of N40,000 per bag, with a limit of one bag per individual to ensure broader access.
The launch, primarily aimed at public servants, is part of the government’s wider efforts to address rising food prices and ease the burden on households across the country.
