Chima Udoye, winner of 2024 Nigerian Idol

THE contestant Chima Udoye has been crowned the winner of the 2024 Nigerian Idol.

Udoye was crowned the champion at the finale of the reality music show’s ninth edition on Sunday night.

He defeated his close rivals Chioma and Lammy in the final.

Udoye is to receive a grand prize of N30 million, a brand-new SUV, a record deal, and a video shoot among the prizes.

The finale featured guest performances from Simi, Chike, and past Nigerian Idol winners such as Progress and Victory Gbakara.

Omawunmi, one of the judges, performed a thank-you song with the evicted contestants.

Nigerian Idol is a country version of the Idol series franchise.

The 2024 Nigerian Idol, hosted by IK Osakioduwa, premiered in April with 9ice, Omawumi, and Ric Hassani as judges.

This year’s edition, themed ‘Dare to Dream’, aired live for eight weeks, from April 21 to July 14.
