Three Killed As Gunmen Attack Bank, Police Station In Abuja

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked the Abaji Divisional Police headquarters in Abuja and robbed a branch of a commercial bank in the area.

The assailants, numbering about 15, invaded the bank and the police facility simultaneously on Thursday evening at about 5:00 PM.

DAILY POST reports that a police officer and two of the suspects were killed during the attack.

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the ugly incident to VAM News on Friday, said operatives of the command, in a combined operation with the military, engaged the armed men in a gun duel, leading to the casualties.

According to the PPRO, three suspects, including a reported leader of the criminal gang identified simply as Usman, were apprehended by the security agents.

It was gathered that angry mobs in the area set the body of one of the deceased suspects ablaze.
