VOICE AIR MEDIA, VAM News Update

In continuation of efforts to mitigate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy, the Osun State Government distributed rice to vulnerable groups across the state.

The distribution exercise which began three days ago, is being carried out through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

The distribution targets a wide array of the groups and associations, ensuring that the palliative reaches the diverse segments of the population.

Among the beneficiaries are Labour Unions, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Civil Society Organizations, the Union of Pensioners, various Security Outfits, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Religious Associations, Market Unions, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), among other registered associations.

Governor Ademola Adeleke was represented at the distribution exercise by his Special Adviser on Agriculture, OSSADEP, and OSSADEC, Hon. Olaniran Akanfe Atidade, who emphasized the importance of the program in mitigating the effects of food insecurity exacerbated by various socio-economic challenges.

“This initiative shows our commitment to supporting the most vulnerable in our society,” he stated, adding that “By ensuring that essential food items are accessible, we aim to provide relief and promote stability within our communities.”

“We have meticulously planned this distribution to ensure that all registered groups receive their fair share of the rice palliative,” Atidade explained. “Our goal is to maintain transparency and fairness throughout the process, and we are working closely with representatives from each group to facilitate smooth and efficient distribution.”

As the distribution continues, the Ministry of Agriculture called the full cooperation in order to ensure that the process is orderly and equitable. “The administration remains committed to addressing food insecurity and enhancing the welfare of its citizens through such proactive measures.”

“We urge all beneficiaries to cooperate with the process, ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it most efficiently and transparently.”

The Special Adviser also reiterated the administration’s dedication to continuing similar support programs in the future, aiming for a sustainable and inclusive approach to development and welfare. We urged all beneficiaries to make judicious use of the palliatives and assured that the government remains steadfast in its mission to improve the lives of all residents of Osun State.
