THE Osun State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akeem Ajadosu has applauded the Osun Online Publishers Association for upholding professionalism in the media task.
He made the assertion during a courtesy visit to the leadership of NUJ Osun Council last Thursday in Osogbo by the leadership and members of the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) led by its Chairman, Mukhtar Ajelogbon.
Ajadosu charged OOPA members to always discharge their duties in accordance with the ethics of journalism, acknowledging the roles of digital media in the society.
“My fellow Chairmen from other States also acknowledged the vibrancy, activeness and professionalism of your association, I can tell you that OOPA stands tall in the comity of state online media associations.
“Digital media has come to stay but we must always apply ethics and professionalism at all times,” Ajadosu said.
He further advised the leadership of OOPA to encourage other members who wish to emulate some members who had already joined Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Osogbo Study Centre to acquire more professional certificates. He also promised not to relent in a working relationship with OOPA, as he prayed for the successful tenure of the new executives of the association.
