The family of Bello Habeeb, age 15, is desperately seeking assistance to raise N1.162 million to save their son from bone cancer.
Habeeb was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the right upper limb, a form of bone cancer, last year, which necessitates urgent intervention.
According to research, osteosarcoma is a type of bone cancer that begins in the cells that form bones.
It most often occurs in the long bones that make up the arms and legs, though it can occur in any bone. It tends to occur in children and young adults.
The symptoms include localised bone pain and swelling, and it can be treated through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
When his family realised his right limb was becoming unusually bigger, they took him to several places, including Igbobi, oblivious to the health issue, until they were referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH.
Habeeb’s father, Mr. Rauf Bello said that after seeking help wherever they could, someone told him about the Gifting Volunteer Network (GVN), a non-profit organisation helping individuals with critical health issues raise funds.
Today, Habeeb is currently being managed at the NSIA-LUTH in Lagos. According to the medical reports the facility issued, Habeeb has received six cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
He is scheduled for external beam radiotherapy treatment for six weeks, which costs N1,162,350.
To save Bello Habeeb, all donations can be made to ADESINA HABEEB BELLO
