Confusion as food vendor slumps, dies while cooking

There was a confusion about the circumstance that led to the sudden death of a 60-year-old woman, popularly called “iya Owolabi” on Monday when she slumped and died while cooking moi-moi and pap she wanted to sell to members of the public in Ondo town.

The incident occurred around 08:00a.m. at Akinjagunla mini market, along Ojojo Road in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According to an eyewitness in the market, Bose Akinwale said the deceased, while cooking fell and was rushed to the nearest hospital by sympathizers were she was confirmed dead.

Akinwale said the doctors that attended to the deceased said her blood pressure was above normal.

According to her, “We don’t really know much about her, we only buy moi-moi and pap from her”.

Report says the incident is yet to be reported at police as at the time of filing in this report but a source confirmed that the police have launched investigation into the incident.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the State hospital mortuary in Ondo.
