Jimoh Ibrahim: Why I don’t want APC to be part of Ondo 2024 guber election

THE Chairman, Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, APC, Ondo South has again rejected the outcome of the Saturday, 20th April, 2024 primary election by the All Progressives Congress, APC to produce its Gubernatorial candidate.

Addressing Journalists yesterday in Abuja, Senator Ibrahim who was one the gubernatorial aspirants in Ondo State, noted that there was no election as he could not vote for himself as materials were not made available.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was declared the winner of the APC governorship primaries.

However, Ibrahim who purportedly came fourth in the election, said the primary election conducted by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, was an electoral fraud in Nigeria that must not be allowed to stand in the interest of internal party democracy.

Ibrahim has approached the High Court, calling on the Court to delist the APC from participating in the general election slated for November this year.

He added the electoral frauds were well captured ward by ward and local government by local government, in the reports obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , which clearly shows that election did not hold in 159 out of 203 wards and 15 out of 18 local government councils in the State.

According to him, the fraud was so appalling that even as one of the contestants in the election , he was unable to vote.

He said, “Two clear prayers are being sought for , in the court as far as mega fraud called Ondo APC Gubernatorial Primary Election is concerned.

“The two prayers are (i), that the sham carried out on Saturday, April 20th 2024 , should be cancelled for fresh one to be conducted and (ii) , for delisting of APC from Ballot in the November 2024 Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State.”
