Voice Air Media, VAM News Update

An eight year old girl has confessed to have slept with five different men, including a father and his son in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The discovery began on Thursday May 2, 2024 when the little girl (name withheld) was sighted hawking satchet water around Radio Nigeria office in Dugbe, Ibadan.

The ugly sight of the girl’s condition, carrying a big bowl filled with satchet water drew sympathy, even tears from the faces of well meaning residents who saw her.

This, therefore drew the attention of Radio Nigeria correspondent who sought to know why she choose to hawk at her tender age.

Upon inquiry, the little girl said her parents were divorced and their whereabouts unknown, leaving her and the other two children at the mercy of their Mum’s elder sister whom they reside with at Idikan area of ibadan.

Speaking on why she hawks water, the little girl explained that it was the means of their livelihood especially for feeding and payment of school fees adding that she carried two packs of satchet water at a time to increase her gain since she makes #265 on each pack.

It was however shocking to discover that the minor was also sleeping with different men in her neighbourhood to make ends meet.

The girl revealed that her lovers included two teenagers, two married men and a minor, among whom were a father and son.

“I go to their house and they lie on me, thereafter they sometimes dash me one hundred naira” she said

Radio Nigeria reporter led the girl to her residence in Oke Seeni, Idi ikan area of Ibadan of Oyo state to affirm her story and the neighbours said they had warned the aunt many times to desist from using the underage to trade

The aunt, Mrs. Banke Alawode said the little girl was her granddaughter and not her niece as she claimed noting that the girl had to hawk to augment her meagre incomefor them to feed.

“I also sell minerals in Dugbe, i have been trying my best but things are too hard for us.”

On the issue of promiscuity of the primary four pupil, Mrs Banke Alawode said she was being abused by her neighbours.

Radio Nigeria reporter eventually took the girl to the University College Hospital, Ibadan to ascertain the little girl’s confession and the Doctor who carried out the necessary test on her confirmed that her hymen was no longer intact as expected of a girl of her age.

The minor was later handed over to the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps for further investigation. (Radio Nigeria)
