How Two Died, Others Injured In Osogbo

On Saturday, two people confirmed dead while two others injured in a traffic collision that occurred in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital.

This was contained in a statement on Saturday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Opalola Yemisi.

Opalola revealed that the deceased were both the unidentified rider of a motorcycle and his passenger.

According to the statement: “Today, April 27, 2024, at about 06:25 am, there occurred a fatal motor/motorcycle accident opposite Mobil filling station, Ogo-Oluwa area, Osogbo.

“The accident involved a Toyota RAV4 with registration number KUJ417DH, driven by one Dauda Tewogbade and a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number SGB708UH. The identity of the rider is yet unknown.

“The accident occurred when the driver of the jeep was coming along the Olaiya area heading towards Abere Road and, on getting to a place opposite the Mobil filling station, hit the motorcyclist while riding against traffic. As a result, the rider of the motorcycle and his passenger died on the spot.

“The driver of the RAV4 Jeep and his friend sustained injuries. They were rushed to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, for treatment, while the corpses of the deceased were deposited at the same hospital morgue for autopsy.”
