Yahaya Bello declared wanted

THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, wanted for offenses relating to economic and financial crimes amounting to N80.2 billion.

The former governor is being wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged corrupt practices while in office as governor of Kogi State.

VAM reports that in the last 24 hours, there have been dramas and hide and seek game between both parties over the move to arrest the former governor for arraignment this Thursday.

In a statement released by the EFCC, members of the public are urged to provide any information regarding his whereabouts immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station.

“Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion. Anybody with information as to his whereabout should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station.”

Meanwhile, earlier on Thursday, the EFCC had threatened to involve the military in executing the order issued on Wednesday, April 17, for the arrest of the former governor.
