Meta breaks silence on global Facebook, Instagram outages

Meta has reacted to the global outages of its Instagram, Facebook and Threads platforms on Tuesday afternoon.

VAM News reported earlier that users of the platforms around the world were locked out of their various accounts without prior notice.

Reacting, the company said it is aware of the challenges the users are facing, saying that the problem is being resolved.

“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesman Andy Stone said in a post on X.

Facebook is the world’s largest social media platform, with three billion active monthly users.

Instagram has about 1.35 billion users, according to the latest data.
