BYE-ELECTION: RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT IN SURULERE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY I ONLY

This is to announce to the general public that during the bye-election scheduled for Saturday, February 3, 2024, there will be restriction of movement in the election area, Surulere Federal Constituency I only.

However, Funsho Williams Avenue will be free for passage only. Movement into and out of feeder roads off Funsho Williams Avenue will not be permitted.

For other parts of Lagos State, there is absolutely no restriction of movement.

Similarly, the Ondo State Police Command has deployed personnel for the upcoming Bye Elections slated for tomorrow, saturday, 3rd of February, 2024.

There is restriction of both human and vehicular movements in the 2 Local Government Areas where the bye elections will take place from 12:00a.m. to 6:00p.m, except for those on special duties, medics and all other relevant organizations that are involved in the election save for emergencies.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM , has also ordered that all security aides to VIPs are not to accompany their principals to polling booths or collation centers during the election.

Also, State owned security and private security outfits are banned from participating in the election, as adequate provisions have been made to ensure free and fair election, without disenfranchising legible voters from carrying out their civic duty.

Finally, the command is using this medium to warn all contestants and their supporters to maintain law and order, embrace the spirit of sportsmanship while parents and guardians are to warn their children/wards not to allow themselves to be used as a tool of distruption/political thuggery as anyone caught in the web of such will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
