OSUN: state government through the Ministry of Education has commenced investigation into the visit of former governor of Osun State and current Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola to his alma mata, Ifeolu Grammar School, Osogbo, during school hours.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on School Monitoring Hon. Akin Ajetunmobi during a meeting on the matter at the State Secretariat.
He said the attention of the Ministry of Education was drawn to a video of students carrying the symbol of the opposition party when teaching and learning activities was supposed to be on.
While reacting to the incident which happened on Monday, 29th January, Hon. Akin Ajetumobi said Gov. Ademola Adeleke has ordered full investigation into the matter because the incident happened during school hours.
He stressed that the school environment should be purposely for teaching and learning activities, added that students ought not be dragged into any form of partisan politics.
Also reacting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Secondary Education, Hon. Sunday Komolafe said school principals should be alive to their responsibilities of protecting the pupils under their custody.
He explained that thorough investigation will be carried out into the matter to forestall future occurrence as those involved have been invited for questioning.
