Osun: Oyetola charges ex-council chairmen on unity, resoluteness

…reaffirms Abiodun Idowu’s leadership

…as former council bosses laud ex-governor

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola CON on Monday tasked the immediate past Local Government Chairmen to remain resolute and forthright in the general interest of taking the party – the All Progressives Congress, APC, to enviable height in the state in particular and Nigeria in general.

Oyetola harped on unity, peace, justice and high sense of brotherhood as the party remains resolute to return to power soon in the state.

This is even as the erstwhile Governor reaffirmed the leadership of the former ALGON’s chairman, Hon. Abiodun Idowu as the leader of the ex-council chairmen in the state.

The Minister stated these while playing host to the members of the ex-ALGON in the state at the Ilerioluwa campaign office, Osogbo.

He called on the ex-council chairmen to remain united, indivisible and build a formidable frontier for the goodness, victory and success of the party in the future election.

“It’s time to be more united as a formidable group towards building a solid and strong progressive party. Let’s jettison our differences,forgive each other if there is any grievances and work together as a united entity.

“As we are resolute to build a formidable frontier, we should continue to join hands together and work as a team under the leadership of Hon. Abiodun Idowu as your group lead. It is time to stimulate and reactivate party’s activities at our various units, wards and local governments even at the state level for the goodness of all and sundry”, he added.

Earlier, the immediate past Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye extolled the sterling performance and leadership quality of the former ALGON chairman, Abiodun Idowu who he described as an exemplary being and astute politician of repute.

Owoeye urged the leadership and members of the group not to relent in their efforts at reinvigorating and positioning the party for structures for future victories.

In his short speech, Hon. Idowu expressed profound gratitude to Oyetola for being supportive to the group in particular and the party in general just as he specially commended the Minister for the kind gestures and massive yuletide gifts extended to party’s leaders, members and sympathisers during last Christmas and new year.

The erstwhile ALGON Chairman used the visit to specially thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Oyetola for appointing one of the former Chairmen, Engr. Taiwo Adeyemi, as Executive Director, Operations, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
