How Ex- Ondo Governor Anointed Me As Next State Gov – Wale Akinterinwa Opens up

Former Commissioner of Finance in Ondo State, Wale Akinterinwa has revealed how his ex-boss, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu anointed him as his (Akeredolu) successor.

In an interview with TVC News on Friday, Wale claimed that Akeredolu prayed for him to be the next governor of the state.

According to Akinterinwa, his former boss made the disclosure after he returned from his medical trip to Germany in 2023.

He said, “During the discussion in his office, he told me that he would want me to takeover from him. And he prayed for me. I’m also aware that he told certain people about that desire.

“The conversation happened immediately after he came back from Germany”.

According to Dailypost, Wale is seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had scheduled the election for November 16 2024.

During the interview, the Governorship aspirant vowed that he would defeat the current Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the APC primary elections.

“At an appropriate time, I will make my intentions known. I am confident that I will get the ticket. The people are with me”, he added.
