Ministry gives update on Nigerian Fire Service recruitment exercise

Voice Air Media, News Update

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has given an update about the ongoing recruitment of federal fire service operatives.

Tunji Ojo revealed that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board, CDCFIB, has approved a 35 per cent allocation for women.

The minister disclosed this through his official X account on Friday.

Tunji-Ojo, who doubled as the Chairman of the Board, said the decision aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda to elevate women’s participation in critical sectors.

“Today (Friday), as the Chairman of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), I approved the allocation of a substantial 35 per cent recruitment slot for women into agencies under the Ministry of Interior, beginning from the ongoing recruitment into the Federal Fire Service.

“This strategic decision aligns with the #RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) to elevate women’s participation in crucial sectors to at least 35 per cent”, he wrote.

Recall that the Board announced the commencement of recruitment on 27th December last year.
