Another Rivers Commissioner Resigns as Wike, Fubara’s rift deepens

THE Commissioner for Works in Rivers state, Dr George-Kelly Alabo has resigned his appointments with immediate effect.

In a letter dated December 14,2023 and addressed to Governor Simi Funbara, Alabo said he resigned based on his philosophy and principles.

His resignation is coming few hours after the Attorney General and commission Justice in the state also tendered his resignation letter.

Both commissioners who resigned are loyalists of former governor and current minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike who had been in battle with his successor, governor Funbara.
