South African music sensation Zahara who stole the heart of many with her stunning vocals and her guitar has passed away at the age of 35 after a battle with illness.
The death of the singer who was one of the few that redefined music was confirmed by the South African Minister for Arts and Culture, Bulelwa Mkutukana in a post on the social media platform, X.
His post on social media read, “I am very saddened by the passing of @ZaharaSA. My deepest condolences to the Mkutukana family and the South African music industry.
Government has been with the family for some time now. Zahara and her guitar made an incredible and lasting impact in South African music.”
Recall that the family of Zahara released an official statement in November 2023 after numerous speculations surrounded her health status and the illness she was suffering from.
Zahara’s death shook the South African music industry to its core as tributes have not spot pouring in from top stars who she touched their lives with her songs and also inspired them to become better artists.
