Boavista defender Bruno Onyemaechi is a major doubt for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Onyemaechi sustained an injury in Boavista’s 3-1 defeat to Farense on Sunday.
The left-back was replaced by Filipe Ferreira in the 56th minute.
The 24-year-old has featured regularly for the Super Eagles in recent outings.
Cardiff City’s Jamilu Collins is the other left-back in the team.
Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Wilfred Ndidi were not included in the squad for the games due to injuries.
The Super Eagles will welcome Lesotho to Uyo on Thursday before flying out to Rwanda to battle Zimbabwe three days later as the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament begins.
