Happie Boiz, a former security guard turned entertainer, has apparently been detained in Cyprus, Platinum Times has learned.
Three of the youngsters were detained, appeared in court yesterday, and were subsequently remanded in custody, according to a reliable source.
VAM News recalls that the boys made news earlier this year after they called out clergyman, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, who sent them on scholarship to Cyprus after they were fired by a fast food restaurant for dancing while working, although details of their arrest and detention are still hazy as of the time of filing this report.
The group of lads, led by Matthew Kelechi, ridiculed the revered priest by claiming that he had abandoned the boys in Cyprus. The priest then offered to pay for their return airfares to Nigeria so they could enroll in any university there or in the Benin Republic, but they turned him down. The youngsters also made derogatory remarks about the priest and made fun of his incapacity to complete their study abroad program in Europe due to financial constraints and a lack of available foreign currency.
