Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde yesterday swore in 29-year-old Miss Wasilat Adegoke to head the Ministry of Youths and Sports.
She is the youngest member of the Executive Council (exco).
The governor also swore in Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi as the Commissioner for Health.
VAM News reports that the governor had earlier sworn in 16 commissioners, bringing the total number to 18.
Speaking shortly after the duo were sworn in, Makinde said he would always forgive the commissioner for youths and sports and others for any mistake made while doing their job, but would not forgive them if they failed to perform.
The event was held at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan.
Makinde urged Miss Adegoke to perform her duty diligently.
He advised Dr. Ajetumobi to drive the vision of establishing category 3 Primary Health Care (PHC) centres across wards, synergising with the agency on health insurance scheme to ensure qualitative health for all, aong other core mandate, “as health remains a major pillar of my administration.”
Governor Makinde has approved the appointment of Prince Sefiu Olawale Oyebola as the Aseyin of Iseyin.
The governor gave the approval in a memo signed yesterday, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsections 1 and 2 of the Chiefs’ Law, Cap. 28, Volume I, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
