Palliative: Gov Zulum Gives N30,000 to Each NYSC Member, Shares 100 Rice, 10 Cows

Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum has donated the sum of N36.4 million to the newly-posted National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the state.

Governor Zulum announced the donation when he visited the Corps members at their temporary orientation camp in Maiduguri.

He declared that each of the 1,215 Corps members would receive N30,000 as palliatives in addition to food items.

“That amount will be credited to your accounts as soon as your bank details are provided to me,” the Governor told them.

The Governor also allocated 100 bags of rice, 10 cows, 10 bags of 100 kilograms of beans, and 10 jerrycans of cooking oil to be prepared for the corps members during the three-week orientation course.

He expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for improving the security situation in Borno which has guaranteed the return of orientation activities in Maiduguri.

The NYSC orientation camp was reopened in Maiduguri on August 22, 2023, after more than 12 years of closure due to the Boko Haram insurgency that ravaged the state.
