VAM News Update
THE National Universities Commission, NUC has given Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, the approval to run a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), programme in Mass Communication, effective from the 2023/2024 academic session.
The Commission also approved the establishment of the full-time for BSc. Physics with Electronics, Ph.D. English Language and Ph.D. Insurance and Risk Management for the University.
This was contained in a letter dated June 8, 2023, signed by NUC’s Director of Academic Planning, Dr. N. B Saliu on behalf of the Executive Secretary, and obtained by this news platform.
According to the letter addressed to JABU’s Vice Chancellor, the approval is sequel to a resource verification visit by the Commission’s panel of experts to the University to assess the human and material resources available for establishment of the programmes.
The Commission however directed the University to make provision for a dark room for the practical work of the B.Sc. Physics and Electronics programme.
“The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programmes”, the letter reads.
